Unlock, switch and inherit
Unlocking makes a class available; switching selects your active class; inheritance brings learned abilities into that selection. The current Steam description confirms switching and active/passive inheritance. The May 2025 development journal describes equipment-related unlock milestones. Read the distinctions below before treating a class name as a complete build.
Unlock a class
The May 2025 journal connects unlock milestones to weapon or armor use.
A new class becomes available; exact thresholds require current-build evidence.
Switch active class
The current Steam description says classes can be changed at any time.
A learned fighting style can become your active class. This does not make every class available immediately.
Inherit skills
Steam describes carrying active and passive skills from other learned classes.
Skills can contribute across classes; slot limits and combinations are not supplied by the overview.

What carries into your active class?
Steam describes inheriting both active and passive skills from other learned classes. Your active class and the source class of an inherited ability can therefore differ. Weapon-bound attack combinations are a separate layer: weapons explains that distinction. The overview does not specify inheritance slots, costs or every permitted combination.
Progression reaches beyond combat
Rescued villagers can contribute teachings, quests and rewards to your options. That gives class development a connection to the wider adventure, without making every resident interaction a class unlock. Use progression for the other growth tracks and town rebuilding for the residents’ role.
Questions to ask about a future build
A useful build description explains its parts instead of giving only a class name.
- Which class is active, and which abilities belong to it?
- Which active or passive skills were learned from another class?
- Which weapon provides the attack combinations?
- What equipment progression or resident teaching supports the setup?
- Which game version and encounter were used to judge its performance?
The official Knight showcase
The official Knight showcase presents a close-range fighter with offensive and defensive actions. The observations below were checked against the published video and its available auto-generated English captions on October 7, 2026. Times are approximate navigation points within that promotional clip, not measurements from our own game session. The action descriptions are not a verified skill-menu list.
| Video time | Visible or narrated evidence | Supported takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| 0:18–0:22 | The narration describes close-range combat and skills for defense and offense; the official description also calls Knights close-quarter combatants. | The presentation positions Knight around close-range fighting, without defining equipment restrictions. |
| 0:26–0:32 | The captions describe closing a gap with a shield charge, a stomp and a melee combo during the combat demonstration. | The promotional sequence presents different offensive actions; exact inputs, stun duration and damage are not supplied. |
| 0:37–0:45 | The captions describe a shield bash to make space and a temporary increase to block-counter chance. A “Blocked” indicator is visible around 0:42. | The showcase includes defensive options; cooldowns, percentages and unlock requirements remain unverified. |
