Your custom player character

You begin with missing memories rather than a predefined named hero. Steam describes options for hairstyles, beards, facial features and colors. Your appearance and your combat class are different choices: the class system can change as you progress, while an appearance option is not evidence of a stat bonus. Our character customization guide explains the options that are actually shown.

The Memento companion

The developer’s game page introduces a strange, luminous entity that calls itself your Memento. It accompanies the player during the escape from the Vitromotus. That establishes a named companion in the game’s presentation, but the source does not provide a complete combat ability list, recruitment procedure or ownership system. Memento also should not be confused with kymia, the emotional energy discussed in the world’s lore.

People worth bringing home

The townspeople are part of character progression as well as the story. The official description connects rescuing survivors with teachings, rewards and quests. Getting to know residents can involve their stories and diaries, and helping them contributes to the town becoming a living hub. This makes a resident guide useful when it can explain a service or quest, not simply list names. See the rebuilding system.

How to read a character record

This page covers the player, the named companion and the announced role of residents. It is not a complete NPC roster. Named residents will receive individual entries when their identity and a useful role, service or quest can be traced to a source. A portrait without an official name will not be assigned a guessed identity.

Characters and voice actors are different records

The studio has announced its voice cast, but an actor’s presence in the credits does not by itself identify the character they play. The voice cast directory lists announced performers separately. For the fighting styles your own character can learn, use the class guide.
